Ms. Marvel Episode 3 begins in 1942 in British Occupied India. People are digging through rubble and armor, searching for the magical angle. They soon find it on a severed arm.
They reiterate what they heard from a man at a temple, that they would need two. Another woman, Aisha, enters the room and demands to see the bangle. She undoes it and observes the artifact.
They believe the other bangle was looted by the British and favor sticking with the one they have. Soldiers and gunfire can be heard outside; it is the British army. The diggers flee but Aisha decides to use the bangle while Najima watches.
When she places it on her wrist, she experiences a surge of power. It is brief, however, and the temple they are in starts to crumble for the soldiers advancing. Najima stresses they can’t let the British have the bangle and split up as the rubble caves in the room.
Ms. Marvel Episode 3 cuts back to the present where Najima is seen telling her story to Kamala at her home. She speaks of Kamala’s great-grandmother Aisha and how she never saw her after that day. Also present in the room are Kamran and others who work with Najima.
Kamala then asks how Najima and Aisha met. Najima reveals that Aisha was from another dimension. She also stresses that she and the rest of her crew in her house are also from another dimension.
Najima continues by stating her people were exiled. Their entire time on this planet has been spent trying to find a way back home. She brings up how they’ve lost track of Aisha during their journey that has lasted more than 100 years.
Kamala brings up how great everyone looks for having been around since the 1940s. The group does point out that Kamran is really 17 years old. Najima then embarrasses Kamran by saying he was right about Kamala being cute.
Najima and Kamala move their conversation to another room while the rest of the group chats. Najima says that she has to protect one of Aisha’s family. She also brings up how her bangle brings about the power of Noor, referring to the inner light.
Najima’s people also have the same powers granted by the bangle but cannot access them in this dimension. She notes that because Kamala was born in this world, she can better use her Noor power here. When Kamala asks if Kamran can also tap into his inner light, Najima tells her it hasn’t happened yet.
Kamala brings up her doubts about the good her bangle-powers can do but Najima retorts that it can be used for good. Najima brings up how Kamala has a powerful side of herself that others do not see. She then shifts the conversation to stress that Kamala must use this power to send Najima and her people home, to finish what Aisha started.
Kamala, however, still has more questions about Najima’s people and where they’re from. Najima states that her people are the Clandestines of the Noor dimension. She brings up how they go by many names but a common label is Djinn, a familiar title that confuses Kamala.
The next day in Ms. Marvel Episode 3, Kamala bursts into Bruno’s room to tell her all about what she’s discovered with her powers. Kamala says she’s a Djinn and unloads everything she learned. Bruno does find himself vindicated in believing Kamran was weird.
Kamala, having revealed that the Clandestine needs her help, asks Bruno to help as well. Reluctantly, Bruno agrees, despite having little to go on. Kamala agrees to reveal more but shifts the conversation to traveling through dimensions.
After Bruno brings up he has some ideas, Kamala decides to take off. Before she leaves, however, Bruno says that she’s trending. He then shows her his phone with a popular video of Kamala’s heroics from the other night.
At the mosque where Kamala struck last night, Cleary and Deever of the Department of Damage Control (DODC) investigate with a team of agents. Deever question Sheikh Abdullah of the mosque and then decides to search the premises for any clues leading to the masked hero. The request is denied, however, by Nakia, seeking to prove her authority to be an elected leader.
After Nakia quotes law back at the agents regarding searches and warrants, Sheikh Abdullah agrees with her. A reluctant Deever leaves but not before she is told next time to remove their shoes before entering.
Back at Kamala’s home, she finds herself studying the footage from last night. Nakia enters her room and starts angrily telling Kamala about DODC entering the mosque. Kamala finds herself perplexed by this and realizes that Kamala has made the mosque a target.
Nakia does, however, bring up that she won her role as a board member of the mosque. It takes Kamala a moment to realize as he is lost in thought. They share a cheerful embrace before getting changed for the mehndi.
As the mehndi gathering starts, Muneeba, Kamala’s mother, tries to steer conversations away about her mother not being able to attend. She brings up how her mother wouldn’t be at her own wedding and wouldn’t expect her to be at her son’s wedding either. The family talks about how mothers and daughters are in constant battle and jokingly says that Kamala won’t be troublesome.
Present at the party is Sheikh Abdullah who discusses with Kamala’s aunt the arrival of agents of the mosque. Sheikh Abdullah says it was no big deal and that they were looking for a brown-skinned hero girl. As Muneeba says how awful it is that there’s a hero like that, she tells Kamala that Bruno couldn’t make it but left her a package.
As Kamala goes outside to open the box, Sheikh Abdullah follows her and asks why she’s alone. Kamala then asks about the masked hero and questions if she’s making things worse. Sheikh Abdullah then brings up how good is not something you are but something you do. After Sheikh Abdullah leaves, Kamala opens the box to discover a new mask for her costume.
At Bruno’s parent’s store, Bruno works the counter while Kamala’s father, Yusef, enters to secretly buy a fruit pie. After some joking, Bruno fails to cover up his research on Djinn. Yusef notices the documents are in Urdu and he offers to help translate.
Yusef gives a performative reading of the folklore behind Djinn. Bruno listens as Yusef mentions the part about the primordial power required for the Djinn to get home. Yusef finds it interesting and then leaves.
Kamala meets Bruno in his room where he brings up how they’d need the energy of the sun to find the power they need. Kamala is confused at first but Bruno breaks it down. He tells her that some things might go boom if he really wants to help the Djinn go home.
Kamala, however, is more hopeful than scared about this issue. Having more faith in herself, Kamala stresses how she could use her bangle to actually do some good. At the same time, Bruno blurts out that he’s going to Caltech.
Kamala is surprised to hear this news but Bruno says he won’t leave until he solves the Djinn problem. When Kamala questions why Bruno didn’t tell her sooner, he brings up how he thought she was busy. Bruno once again reiterates that he’s here for Kamala.
Kamala brings up how Carol Danvers could solve this problem and Bruno brings up how Captain Marvel was also reckless. He then states that it might not be such a bad thing that she’s not Captain Marvel.
Ms. Marvel Episode 3 continues back at Kamala’s home, Kamala tries to clean up a scrape and Muneeba comes into the bathroom to help her. While Muneeba cleans the scrape, Kamala asks if her mother has ever felt like she has to face off against the entire world. Muneeba says yes and that America was her towering mountain to climb.
Muneeba reveals her history of growing up in a country she struggled to get used to. She brings up how she was lonely but how she found her family and friends that loved her. Muneeba then stresses that no challenge has to be done alone and Kamala hugs her, gratefully. Muneeba tries to cheer up Kamala by bringing up the upcoming marriage of Kamala’s brother, Aamir.
Kamala messages Kamran about wanting to help and how she needs more time. Kamran messages her back that she needs to focus on the wedding. He closes by stating how they’ll figure it out eventually.
At the mosque, preparations for the wedding are underway. Aamir paces in the mosque as Sheikh Abdullah helps him with his outfit. Aamir then brings up his small bank account and Abdullah says he shouldn’t worry.
Realizing that Aamir is feeling uncertain, Abdullah gives him a talk about manhood while Kamala overhears from the hallway. Abdullah says that Aamir has chosen family and that he’ll never be alone. Kamala finds herself pleased by these words.
The wedding ceremony commences between Aamir and Tyesha. After confessing their love, they are pronounced husband and wife with much cheering in the mosque.
At Kamran’s home, Najima questions Kamran about his contact with Kamala. Najima stresses how their time is running out and that they need to take bigger risks. Najima, unwilling to wait, stress that they’re going to force Kamala to help them.
At the wedding reception, Aamir and Tyesha watch as the family dances with celebratory joy. Kamala even joins in and finds herself enjoying dancing along with Bruno and the other girls. Aamir is then pulled onto the dance floor as well, with Tyesha soon following.
As the band prepares a slow song, Kamran arrives and interrupts a dance between Kamala and Bruno. Kamran steals Kamala away and warns her of the danger that she’s in right now. Kamran stresses how the Djinn will come to kill her and her whole family.
Bruno tells Kamran to back off but he refuses. Kamala finds herself growing fearful as Kamran warns her that everyone will die. The Djinns then enter the reception and Kamala says she’ll distract them.
Trying to clear the room, Kamala pulls a fire alarm before fleeing. The family leaves as Kamran stays and Bruno urges everyone to get out. Kamran tries to stop his mother but she refuses to listen.
Kamala flees from the pursuing Djinns that displays how violent they can be. Kamala leads three of them to a kitchen where they engage in a fight. Kamala uses the powers of her bangle to fight off her attackers.
Outside the wedding ceremony, the family brings up how they believe Kamala pulled the alarm. Bruno tries to get inside but is held back. Nakia, however, tries to find another way inside.
Back inside, Kamala hides from the pursuing Djinn. They argue that the power of the bangle is too big for Kamala and that she’s selfish for keeping it. The lights of the kitchen are then turned off by Najima.
Najima once more states that Kamala needs to give her the bangle to finish all this. The fight then leads back onto the dance floor. With all of the Djinn present, Kamala fights them all off with both her powers and using the surrounding tables.
Bruno arrives and attempts to help but is knocked back. Kamala fights back with an energy fist on the Djinn who attacked Bruno. Kamran also fights back against the Djinn with a whip, giving Kamala and Bruno time to escape.
Kamran is defeated and Bruno and Kamala find themselves surrounded by the Djinn. Kamala questions why Najima is doing this and the Djinn remarks that she won’t help those who betrayed her. Kamala’s bangle then starts glowing as Najima grabs it. The two of them both witness a vision of the past in the form of a train.
The fight is disrupted when Deever and the DODC agents enter to fight back with energy guns. Kamala and Bruno hide from the agents and make their escape. The Djinn are arrested by the DODC.
As Kamala and Bruno exit the building, Nakia discovers Kamala’s secret. Bruno stresses that Kamala needs to leave now. She does so while Nakia helps an injured Bruno.
Kamala returns home to her family questioning why she pulled the alarm. Muneeba tries to be sympathetic and begs for honesty so that she can help. Kamala, realizing her family would be in danger if they learned the truth, refuses to give an answer for her actions.
With her family disappointed in her, Kamala retreats to her room. She gets a call on her phone from Nani who immediately states that she needs to come to Karachi. Nani then asks if Kamala saw that train and states that she saw it as well. Nani then ends the call.
