Ms. Marvel Series Scores High On Rotten Tomatoes

Ms. Marvel series debuts tomorrow and it already holds a high score on Rotten Tomatoes. The Marvel Studios and Disney+ show sits at a 95% RT score. For an MCU series looking more like a Disney kid show featuring a younger Marvel hero, that’s an impressive accomplishment. Especially with casual fans who are used to seeing more of the familiar characters from Marvel Comics crossing over to live-action.

All the Rotten Tomatoes reviews are excited to see more of Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) on the big screen. Disney and Marvel Studios have done a good job bringing their heroes together as young Kamala Khan will fly side by side with Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel in The Marvels.

Previously, Disney+ and Marvel debuted their globe trotting adventure series, Moon Knight, starring Oscar Isaac. While Moon Knight featured a hero dealing with dissociative identity disorder caused by childhood trauma. The Ms. Marvel series will focus more on a 16-year-old Pakistani American from Jersey City struggling to find her place in the world.

According to Comicbook.com’s review, the Ms. Marvel series is an origin story “to be the brightest moment” of Phase 4 yet. “What makes a hero? That’s the question at the heart of Ms. Marvel on Disney+,” their review begins. “Our heroine is Kamala Khan, a self-described fangirl who loves the Avengers and has a real talent for YouTube content. However, she’s very much at an age where there’s pressure to have her life all figured out. That’s a lot of stress on a teenager! However, star Iman Vellani absolutely nails the characterization of Ms. Marvel and a warm group of family and friends make this Marvel Cinematic Universe outing absolutely soar.”

Marvel’s description of the Ms. Marvel series: “Introduces Kamala Khan—a 16-year-old Pakistani American from Jersey City. An aspiring artist, an avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, she is a huge fan of the Avengers—and one in particular, Captain Marvel. But Kamala has always struggled to find her place in the world—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Iman Vellani stars as Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel.”

Ms. Marvel series debuts tomorrow, June 8 on Disney+.
