Netflix just released the trailer for The Gray Man. The streaming platform’s next big-budget action-packed spy thriller starring Marvel Studios star Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling. There’s a lot to take in from the teaser trailer including Evan’s 80s mustache. It’s totally far from his Captain America look.
The Gray Man is adapted from the books by Mark Greaney. The spy thriller centers around a cat-and-mouse chase between Ryan Gosling’s CIA-endorsed hitman named Sierra Six running from Chris Evan’s manhunter named Lloyd Hansen. The film is directed by The Russo Brothers. The directing duo who were behind Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Inifinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
The Gray Man is reportedly the streamer’s most expensive movie yet. It’s pretty obvious as to why. Not only does its cast include some star-power like Bridgerton breakout Regé-Jean Page, Ana de Armas, Billy Bob Thornton, Alfre Woodard, Marvel’s The Defenders Jessica Henwick and more but also packs some explosive action scenes. There’s plenty of shootouts, explosions, hand-to-hand combat and stunts that for sure will deliver some action-packed suspense straight to your TV.
Based off The Gray Man trailer, it looks like Chris Evans and Ryan Gosling are in their element in this film. Gosling gets to play a character with some seriousness but with a sarcastic edge while Evans portrays his character as an unapologetic killer with some swag and charisma.
Not sure what to think about Evan’s line “You wanna make an omelette? You gotta kill some people,” but The Gray Man is set to look like a great summer action flick by the Russo brothers. The film has a Mission: Impossible meets John Woo movies (The Killer, Hard-Boiled, Face/Off) type feel to it.
The Gray Man hits theaters this July 15. Then followed by its streaming release on Netflix on July 22. Watch the trailer below.
